2_L Studio is the architectural design and photography practice of Conrado Lopez. Conrado was working with an outdated website design and a confusing back end that limited his professional visibility and engagement. He needed a new website that would both reflect and showcase the high level and detail of his work and that would accommodate new projects over time. The site had to give primary place to the large portfolio of images themselves, with minimal intrusion to the viewing experience.
Working with Conrado’s aesthetic preferences, I developed a new look and feel for the site based on a timeless modernist design and typography. The dark, minimalist theme, masonry grid style, and smooth interactions enhanced the visual impact of the images.
As a foundation for this design, I set up powerful content management system (CMS) collections of project types and categories. These content collections enabled powerful cross-referencing and ease of updating throughout the site. The final product facilitated a seamless navigation between various projects, both architectural and photographic, and displayed these projects with little interference for an optimal user experience.
